Grunge Camp August 15, 2016

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Stone Temple Pilots, and more! Grunge defined the rock of music of the early 90’s when Nirvana took over Seattle. This music took over the charts with a heavy metal/hardcore punk sound that no one had ever heard before. Students will learn the history of the grunge movement through the music of the genre’s most popular artists and bands. Tracks like, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Man in the Box,” and “Black Hole Sun,” epitomize the beginnings of grunge music with their aggression and relentless sound. So find all your flannel, your Chuck Taylor’s, and your ripped jeans, it’s time for some grunge! There will be a concert at the end of the week that family and friends will be able to attend. There will also be a lunch break during each day of camp, so feel free to bring a bagged lunch! For ages 9-17.
